Huachiew Chalermprakiet University Delegation Visits Our University for Educational Cooperation Symposium

On the afternoon of September 16, 2025, a two-member delegation from Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU) in Thailand, led by Dr. TANES IMSAMRAN, Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Studies, visited our university. A symposium was held in Conference Room 1507 of Zhiyuan Building. Wei Liqiu, Dean of School of Foreign Studies (School of International Education, Lin Na, Deputy Director of Office of International Exchange and Affairs of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and Deputy Dean of School of Foreign Studies (School of International Education) and Zhang Yuping, Deputy Dean of School of Chinese Literature and Communication represented Hechi University to attend the meeting.

The symposium was presided over by Deputy Dean Lin Na.

Dean Wei Liqiu extended a warm welcome to the delegation from HCU. She provided a detailed overview of our university's achievements in international cooperation and exchange, as well as in international education, and shared the future development vision, highlighting our commitment to providing students with broader international perspectives and diverse cultural exchange platforms. Dean TANES IMSAMRAN then introduced the distinctive characteristics and international exchange initiatives of HCU, expressing the willingness to further strengthen cooperation with Hechi University. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on specific items including student exchanges, short-term study visits, academic and research collaboration, and cultural experiences, reaching a preliminary consensus on establishing a long-term, stable, and efficient cooperation mechanism.

Following the symposium, Dean TANES IMSAMRAN and his delegation member visited our university's Local Characteristic Culture Exhibition Center, international student classrooms, and dormitories, where they gained a detailed understanding of the unique cultural features of Northwest Guangxi and the learning and living conditions for international students on campus.

This exchange marked the first in-person meeting between the two universities since the signing of the “Student Exchange Program Agreement” in August 2023. It not only effectively enhanced mutual understanding and trust but also laid a solid foundation for broader future collaboration. Our university will continue to uphold an open and inclusive approach to internationalization, steadily advancing practical, multi-faceted, and in-depth cooperation with universities in countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, including Thailand, leveraging high-level educational openness to drive the high-quality development of our university.
