On the morning of December 1st, 2023 the opening ceremony of the 21th Track and Field Sports Meeting of the University was grandly held on the Eastern Athletic Field.
University Party Secretary Wei Anguang, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission Fan Wei, Vice Presidents He Weiguo, Party Committee standing Committee, propaganda department minister Tang Yushou, and Party Committee Standing Committee, Minister of the Organization Department Yi Yunfei and members of the Games Organizing Committee attended the opening ceremony, as well as representatives of teachers and students from all schools. The opening ceremony was presided over by He Weiguo.
After the opening ceremony, all competitions were carried out in an orderly manner. A total of 14 international students participated in competitions, such as track events:100m, 200m, 400m,4×100m, and some field events: shot, long jump and high jump etc.
With the care and help of the leaders and teachers, and the joint efforts of all the students, the athletes worked tirelessly, carried forward the spirit of unity and mutual assistance, and achieved the desired level and style of competition.
On the morning of December 3rd, the closing ceremony of the 21st Track and Field Sports Meeting was held on the Eastern athletic field. Vice presidents Wei Wenguang and Qin Yongling, Tang Yushou, Party Committee standing Committee, propaganda department minister,Yi Yunfei Minister of the Organization Department and members of the Standing Committee of the Party committee, and members of the Organizing Committee of the Games attended the closing ceremony. Representatives of teachers and students from all schools attended the closing ceremony.
The closing ceremony was presided over by Vice President He Qeiguo. In his speech, He Weiguo appreciated that The Sports Meeting was pretty successful and well-done. It was fully prepared, well-organized with strict discipline and order, and fully reflects the unity and hard work, the revitalization of the spirit of sports competition. It is a grand gathering of unity, friendship, and innovation. The Sports Meeting has not only written a new splendid chapter for the development of physical education of our school, but also carried forward the Olympic spirit---faster, higher and stronger. He hoped that all faculties and students could carry out the strategy, building China as a leading sports nation, based on the actual situation of our school, with the plan to develop sports for cultivating morality, and increasing intelligence.
Through this meeting, it showed that the international students actively participate in sports competitions and actively adapt to the study and life in China.
