On November 8th, a delegation of six from Suratthani Rajabhat University, Thailand, led by President Wattana Rattanaprom, visited our university. The two institutions held a symposium in Meeting Room 1507 of Zhiyuan Building, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further deepen practical collaboration in education and agriculture. Ma Shaojian, the President of our university, along with heads of relevant departments, and officials from the Hechi People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries attended the meeting.

At the Symposium
Ma Shaojian extended a warm welcome to President Wattana Rattanaprom and his delegation. He briefly introduced the university’s general profile and highlighted its key initiatives in recent years—particularly in disciplinary development and service to local community. He especially emphasized the university's deep engagement in local poverty eradication and rural revitalization efforts through the continuous deployment of resident working teams, which has enabled it to accumulate rich practical experience. He pointed out that the two universities share significant similarities in their development history, educational philosophy, and disciplinary setup, and share common goals in their commitment to supporting local agricultural development. He expressed the hope that both sides would fully leverage their respective disciplinary and resource advantages to strengthen cooperation in areas such as research on cash crop cultivation technologies, the transformation of agricultural scientific and technological achievements into practical applications, and the exploration of region-specific agricultural development models—thereby jointly contributing to the economic and cultural development of both regions.
Wattana Rattanaprom expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by our university. He recalled his visit in April this year to Du'an Yao Autonomous County, Hechi City, Guangxi, ,accompanying His Excellency Dapong Rattanasuwan, Thai Privy Councilor ,and noted that this return visit aimed to learn from our university’s successful experiences in guiding economic crop cultivation techniques in Hechi and supporting local targeted poverty alleviation and eradication effort. Subsequently, Mr. Vijvut Tjinto, former Governor of Surat Thani Province, introduced relevant policy orientations of Suratthani Rajabhat University and conveyed his optimism regarding the future cooperation between the two universities.

During the meeting, both sides watched promotional videos of the respective universities and engaged in constructive discussions on a concrete cooperation framework. Based on broad consensus, the presidents of the two universities signed the MoU on-site, witnessed by the attending representatives, formally marking the establishment of a partnership between the two institutions.
