On the morning of March 11, Li Qiaowen, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange from Guangxi Science & Technology Normal University visited our school with her 3 staff. The two universities had a discussion and exchange on the work of international undergraduate students in China in Conference Room 403, Waiyu Building. Li Qiaowen, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Guangxi Science & Technology Normal University, Wei He, Dean of our school, Lin Na, deputy dean, and teachers from the corresponding offices of the two universities attended the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Lin Na.
Lin Na introduced the history, majors, faculty, talent cultivation, student internship and graduation work of our school. She emphasized that the internship, graduation and bachelor degree confirming of international undergraduate students must meet the requirements of “‘Administrative Measures for Schools Recruiting and Cultivating International Students’(Order No. 42 of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Public Security of China) ” and “Schools Enrolling and Cultivating International Students Management Regulations of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region”, “Higher Education Quality Standards for International Students in China (Trial by the Ministry of Education)”, and the University’s implementation rules for granting of bachelor’s degrees to international students etc.
Wei He focused on the phased achievements and development ideas of the construction and expansion of the internship base for international students in China and the creation of the cross-border e-commerce platform. He emphasized that during the special period of COvid-19, it is necessary to develop student internship channels and platforms in many aspects in accordance with the requirements of the Department of Entry and Exit Management of local public security bureau for international students.
Li Qiaowen focused on the majors, faculty and language training programs for international undergraduates of Guangxi Science & Technology Normal University. She emphasized that during the special period of the epidemic, the language training program will help to extend the scale of running schools and facilitate the subsequent running of schools.
Then the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the daily management of international undergraduate students studying in China, internship practice, graduation thesis and graduation qualification management, and exchanged opinions on the difficulties and problems encountered in running schools in a targeted manner.
This meeting not only develops the idea of running an undergraduate major for international students in China for both parties, but also lays a foundation for the further standardization and institutionalization of student management. After the meeting, the leaders and teachers from both sides took a group photo in front of the Waiyu Building.
