On the morning of November 20th, the opening ceremony of the 18th Track and Field Sports Meeting of the University was grandly held on the Eastern Athletic Field.
University Party Secretary Wei Anguang, President Miao Jian, Vice Presidents Wei Wenguang, Qin Yongling, Zhong Hongtao, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission Huang Xiaojing and members of the Games Organizing Committee attended the opening ceremony, as well as representatives of teachers and students from all schools attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Wei Wenguang, Vice President and Director of the Sports Commission.
After the opening ceremony, all competitions were carried out in an orderly manner. A total of 12 international students participated in competitions, such as track events:100m, 200m, 4×100m, and some field events: shot, long jump, high jump and triple jump, etc
With the care and help of the leaders and teachers, and the joint efforts of all the students, the athletes worked tirelessly, carried forward the spirit of unity and mutual assistance, and achieved the desired level and style of competition.
On the morning of November 22nd, the closing ceremony of the 18th Track and Field Sports Meeting was held on the Eastern athletic field. Vice presidents Wei Wenguang and Qin Yongling, Wei Dexian, members of the Standing Committee of the Party committee and head of the United Front Work Department, and members of the Organizing Committee of the Games attended the closing ceremony. Representatives of teachers and students from all schools attended the closing ceremony.
The closing ceremony was presided over by Vice President Qin Yongling. In his speech, Wei Wenguang expressed the hope that more faculties and students can participate in sports, discover the charm of sports to strengthen their physical fitness, and strive to build our university into a high-level Application-oriented University in local with distinctive characteristics, solid foundation and obvious advantages.
Through this meeting, it showed that the international students actively participate in sports competitions and actively adapt to the study and life in China. It also reflected their moral outlook that are united, striving.
